The purpose of FRIENDS of Western Home Communities is to promote the mission of Western Home Communities and its programs through volunteer services. Your volunteer time and donations allow FRIENDS to complete projects that benefit the residents of Western Home Communities. Past projects include:

  • “Friends Forever” raised gardens at the Main Campus
  • Provided Wii’s for each building and large screen TVs
  • Purchase of buses for resident transportation
  • Automatic entrance doors for Martin Health Center
  • Dressers for resident rooms in Martin Health Center

FRIENDS meets each month to discuss ideas and volunteer opportunities. The annual fundraiser of the FRIENDS is a community breakfast held each September. Other fundraisers at each of our communities include the sale of handmade greeting cards as well as annual calendars featuring photos from Western Home Communities’ residents. Also, donated furniture is offered for sale to staff and residents each month. Their Speakers’ Bureau hosts a guest speaker each month at one of our retirement communities.

Volunteers are a vital part of our community. To volunteer or for more information, please contact Leisure/Volunteer Services at 277-2141.
