Thalman Square includes 32 units ad delivers attention using a high ratio of caregivers to residents that ensures individualized attention. The activity program at Thalman Square emphasizes participation in leisure and social activities that promote quality of life. Programming includes physical activities such as exercise groups and walks around the pond to promote good health. Music therapy uses music as a modality to enhance the resident’s life through singing, playing instruments, and movement. A sense of accomplishment and fulfillment is achieved through baking, making crafts, fishing, and gardening. Community outings to restaurants, museums, and parks benefit the resident’s quality of life through participation and appreciation of the arts and nature. Daily Socials give the residents an opportunity to visit with their friends and enjoy a treat such as ice cream, fruit, or frozen drinks. Sharing information about their lives and remembering the “good ole days” is the focus of reminiscent activities. The pet therapy program provides an opportunity for the residents to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of visits with dogs, cats, and puppies.
