Congratulations to our Chef of the Month!  

Who took home the trophy in July? Chuck Weber of the Willowwood kitchen. He won the timed cook-off held July 26 at Windgrace, home of June's winning chef, Neil Sweet. The July challenge gave each chef thirty minutes to prepare a unique dish featuring fish. An enthusiastic audience watched the competition unfold; then, judges chose the winner based on presentation, portion size, nutritional balance, ingredients compatibility, creativity, practicality, flavor, taste and doneness. 

Chuck won the day with his chili lime pollack, accompanied by red bean, corn and rice fritters, mango salsa and cilantro lime cream sauce. Kyle Skilling of Stanard Family Assisted Living presented an original entree’ featuring potato crusted fish with mango vinaigrette and lime dill rice.

Neil Sweet's menu included goan fish curry, naan bread, cucumber mango and mint salad, plus tamarind dipping sauce. The winning trophy will be on display at Willowwood until that community hosts the August "battle of the chefs."
