Built in 1989, Willowwood was the first retirement community of its kind in Iowa. The 34-unit single-level apartment complex is located at 1100 Grove Street in Cedar Falls, directly across the street from Stanard Family Assisted Living Center. This location also provides convenient access to downtown Cedar Falls. Windgrace and Windermere, our single-level, 33- and 34-apartment complexes, are located at 5118 and 5018 South Main Street on ten-acre campus in Cedar Falls.

Windcove opened in October 2004 and is located south of Windgrace at 5300 South Main Street. It features 70 two-bedroom units, varying in size from 950 to 1,450 square feet. Unique to Windcove is the attached, heated garage as well as a full-size kitchen and a stacked washer/dryer in each unit. Windridge is located east of Windcove. It houses 70 two-bedroom units and offers the same amenities as Windcove. The setting includes a historic round barn listed on the National Registry of Historical Places and a stucco house. This unique acreage provides town living with a distinctive, country air.

At all five communities, you will find large common areas for mingling, complete with massive stone fireplaces. You’ll find lounges, a library, a landscaped courtyard, dining and party rooms, and a beauty shop on site. Residents can relax knowing they can rely on 24-hour security and emergency call systems. As a resident of one our retirement communities, you will have priority access to the Assisted Living or Nursing Care Services of Western Home Communities, should the need ever arise.
