As the owner, Western Home Communities insures for building loss. Renters insurance purchased by the occupant covers personal items.
Q: How are the villas protected against fire?
Smoke alarms have been installed in each unit, and the villas are built in accordance with city fire code regulations.
Q: If a resident wished to move into one of the retirement communities, would he/she be able to?
Q: If paramedics are called, to what hospital will I be taken?
It is the resident's choice.
Q: Is the kitchen full-size?
Yes. Appliances included will be a side-by-side refrigerator, smooth top range and oven, built-in microwve, dishwasher, and garbage disposal.
Q: Is there space to garden?
Yes, we will allow limited space on each lot and prior approval is needed.
Q: May I install ceiling fans at my own expense?
Q: What are the requirements for admission to Windcrest Villas?
Each resident must complete an admission application that includes financial data.
Q: What equipment is provided in the barn wood shop and who can use the barn and equipment?
Residents provide the equipment. Residents in the retirement communities will have priority; as space is available, residents from the villas may also be able to utilize.
Q: What happens if and when a resident's needs make living in Windcrest Villas no longer appropriate?
We believe in quality of life and will do our best to maintain residents at the appropriate level. Western Home Communities will make the final decision along with the resident, family members, and resident's physician.
Q: What is a Continuing Care Retirement Community?
An organization that provides levels of services to appropriately fit residents' needs.
Q: What optional services are available for an additional fee at Windcrest Villas?
Access to all Western Home Communities' services.
Q: What type and who responds to the emergency call system?
An emergency call system utilizing a pendant is used, and Western Home Communities staff will respond to any emergency.
Q: What types of fees will be required for living at Windcrest Villas?
Fees will include a refundable entrance fee for occupancy rights and a monthly service fee which covers maintenance, snow removal, lawn care, and 24-hour emergency response system.
Q: Who owns Western Home Communities?
It is a stand-alone 501c3 charitable organization held in trust by a local Board of Directors consisting of 11 members.
Q: Who pays the property taxes?
The resident in each unit pays property taxes for that unit through an occupancy agreement.
Q: Will wheelchairs, walkers, electric carts be acceptable to use in Windcrest Villas and around the campus area?
